This software allows for transferring of TI-Nspire documents to and from the computer but will not allow you to open and work on the documents on your computer.
As an alternative you may download and install the free TI-Nspire computer link software. If you activated it on one computer and wish to have it on a second computer you will need to purchase a new license for that computer.
Per the license agreement it is not transferable. The software that comes free with the handheld is designed to be installed and activated on a single computer. I will be more than happy to answer your questions about the activation process for the software and its license agreement. It is unfortunate that you are having difficulties trying to activate your TI-Nspire student software on a second computer. You could use the TI-Nspire Computer software or TiLP instead. That issue is really annoying because people have to reformat their computers or do system restores, sometimes. Normally you can contact TI and they'll give you a new license, but I'm unsure why they didn't respond, so maybe they stopped doing that. I don't have any Nspire though so I can't really say in this particular case. And I agree, this single-use thing is pretty inconvenient. Or else get TiLP which is free and open-source, not sure it does everything the TI student software does, but I think it does the job.
